The Five Keys to Creating More Freedom

Most people who seek change want freedom, consciously or unconsciously. They want to be free from pain e.g. confusion, personal or work-related stress, identity crisis, professional or personal dilemmas, difficult relationships, physical pain... In order to create and gain more freedom in your life, it's often necessary to undergo mental, emotional, behavioural and/or spiritual change. The trouble is a lot of the time, you're looking for other people to grant you the freedom you desire or basing choices on beliefs and attitudes that aren't yours – the 'shoulds' and world views inherited from parents, organisations, society... But freedom is a state of mind.  As Viktor Frankl stated in Man's Search for Meaning: “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.” The way that you have chosen so far in your life is coded in your hands....

Summer Time, Well-being & How You May Be Deficient in Vitamin D and Don’t Know it?

Summer time with its abundance of sunshine is Vitamin D time.  Most people know that we get Vitamin D from sunlight, but do you know that you could be deficient in Vitamin D and don't know it. Health is vital for your well-being, vitality and productivity.  So this blog alerts you to the hazards of Vitamin D deficiency and what to do about it. We've had a lovely hot weather in London so far this week with plenty of sunshine and it's the perfect day to write about Vitamin D. Last week,  I talked about my mother's electrolyte problem that landed her in hospital  as that was “on top” for me and received this email: “Thanks for this research which I found interesting...While I'm writing about deficiencies, I went to the doctors recently and had a blood test and they discovered I was deficient in Vitamin D. Apparently the normal range is between 70 to 200 odd (from memory). I was at...

Discover When To Trust Your Intuition?

When should you trust your intuition? Some people want to sharpen it, some want to trust it more and some feel disconnected from it. But what exactly is intuition? Is it something mystical and magical? Or is it something that can be easily explained by scientists? I've been musing about intuition quite a lot recently. And because I've been focusing on it, I'm noticing more and more references to it (my reticular activator, which decides what we become conscious of, brings references to intuition more and more into my awareness). I also talk about intuition quite a lot. When I'm decoding the information in clients' hands, I may refer to intuition markers that they have. In fact, this is what really got me thinking about this subject. When I tell a client that there are intuition symbols in their hands showing that they are intuitive, no one has ever asked what I mean by intuition. This has piqued my curiosity. What do we...

“But, I’m not Creative!” How Your Hands Reveal that You are Creative

“But, I'm not creative!” the client exclaims, before I'd even completed my sentence. I had just said that your hands reveal a creative theme. Do you believe that you're not creative? Many people do.  I think it's because they associate creativity with painting, drawing, singing, music, dancing, composing, acting, writing, poetry, sculpturing...what I call 'classical' definitions of creativity. But creativity is unlimited. In hand analysis creativity refers to your individualistic creative expression in any domain. You can be a lawyer/accountant/surgeon and be creative. Software design, landscape gardening, teaching, cooking, fashion design, car maintenance, business consultancy are all creative endeavours. An invention, starting a business, parenting and a plethora of other activities can involve your unique creative artistry.Being creative isn't just about technical proficiency, it has to involve an expression of who you are, some aspect of your essence; your authenticity. If you read my ebook “Your Handprint is Your Blueprint” or you've had your hands analysed, you'll know that the ring finger on...

The Dirty Little Secret About Your Mind …

The dirty little secret about your success that you may not know about ...woo woo and quantum physics agree on how to manifest what you desire. What! Spirituality and science meet at the same point. The law of attraction tells us to “ask and it is given”. Decide what you desire/want, ask for it, get into vibrational alignment and it will manifest. You ask and align vibrationally and leave it to the universe to manifest. This does not mean that you do not take action. The 'Secret' got heavily criticised for implying that we just have to put in our request without taking action on the ideas and plans. Many people are highly sceptical and think this is woo woo stuff. What does science say? Quantum physics says whether something is energy (waves) or physical matter (particles) depends on the mind of the observer. When you observe something you bring it into existence. Is that crazy or what? I'm Not in Control/Responsible It seems...

Purpose: How to Leave the World a Little Better than you Found it?

Purpose. How can you leave the world a little better than you found it?  I heard this recently: “The basis of life is freedom, the purpose of life is joy and expansion. If you put emphasis on joy, expansion will take place.”  This got me thinking about life purpose. Eckhart Tolle, contemporary spiritual teacher extraordinaire tells us that our life purpose is to connect with “the formless presence within us” You need to get out of your mind/quiet your mind, he teaches, in order to connect with your inner spaciousness. Why? Because joy comes from this spaciousness. Many people experience this spaciousness through meditation because meditation quiets the mind and raises your vibration. Breath work also stills the mind and leaves a sense of emptiness like being in a vacuum. In the yogic tradition, Patanjali, the great spiritual master (2,300 or so years ago) wrote: “When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds, your mind...

Balancing Masculine and Feminine Energies For Success

Do you need to balance your masculine and feminine energies to be truly successful and to create a better world? Currently, in the world success is defined by masculine values and many women have adapted and express their masculinity even stronger than men. "When I was first coming through I felt I had to be a 'she man' and blend in. I tied up my curls and wore a black top to blend in, and I also found myself engaging in male forms of leadership behaviour. Then I thought 'Gosh, it's hard trying to be someone else all the time.' " This quote is by Sacha Romanovitch, the first woman to head a major City (London) accountancy firm (Grant Thornton) - source the Evening Standard, 11 September 2015. So, are you balancing your feminine and masculine energies inside you in order to be a whole person and to create a better world. Feminine and masculine are consciousness we possess or energies that we express....

Laugh, Cry, Meditate – 3 Steps to More Joy

Laugh, cry, meditate! This is what you'll be doing for twenty minutes each, China, the event leader, said. Really, I thought without much enthusiasm! How am I going to sustain laughing and crying for 20 MINUTES each. Resistance had reared its head and I was thinking this is going to be hard. Immediately, I was out of energetic alignment with the upcoming activity. This is the last in my trilogy of blogs on the lessons from my Goa, India, retreat adventure that Sandeep and I ran in late February-March. I have also been resisting writing part 3 and so overcoming resistance is the theme of this blog.. It's interesting that if you google the word resistance, the top search results are for electrical resistance, antibiotic resistance, resistance in physics. I like this definition from physics - “Resistance is the hindrance to the flow of charge.” And “charge is the physical property of matter that causes it to experience a force when placed in...

This Struck a Nerve – Sufi Whirling Lessons

This struck a nerve...I was Sufi whirling and my feet were turning by themselves...OMG! my mind screamed. I started to consciously talk to myself. Okay, calm down, Rosaleen. Just relax into it. Let your feet move...Relax. This was not what I was expecting and felt way out of my spinning comfort zone. We were doing our emotional cleansing retreat within a retreat (while on yoga holiday in Goa) and Sufi Dervish Whirling was our first exercise. I had watched Sufi spinning performances on two occasions, once in London and once in Istanbul, Turkey and I was excited to do this meditation. Sufi whirling or spinning is an active meditation that's like a dance. "Whirling is one of the most ancient techniques, one of the most forceful. It is so deep that even a single experience can make you totally different. Whirl with open eyes, just like small children go on twirling, as if your inner being has become a center and your whole body...

It's 11:38. The Yoga holiday in Goa, India ended yesterday. The sun is shining gloriously and it's time to be in the shade. I'm relaxing, with some coconut water next to me and enjoying the sound of the night black crows cawing It's peaceful, relaxing and tranquil. The gentle breeze is cooling as it caresses the skin. The yoga holiday in South Goa, India has had many unexpected surprises.  Everyone has flown home. I am still here and will be leaving tomorrow. We were all (teachers and students) taken outside of our comfort zone as we've explored new ways of being and not being. Here are a few important lessons from this yoga adventure in Goa. Lesson One Take time out to recharge and rejuvenate mind, body, spirit.   Right now, I'm sitting on the veranda of my beach cottage writing this blog. I am breathing deeply. I can hear the rhythmic and soothing sound of the waves of the Arabian Sea breaking on the shore 50...
